    Lamar was employed Creative Playthings in Herndon and retired from Michaels Foods in Klingerstown. He was a 1958 graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School, Line Mountain). Lamar grew up in the Sleepy hollow of Hebe, in his youth he enjoyed bowling and taking people to the mall
    Lamar is survived by his sister, Lorraine Phillips (Howard Witmer) of Herndon; nephew, Kim Phillips (Bruce Fleck) of Duncannon; niece, Julie (Dennis) Latshaw of Hanover; grand-nephew, Derek (Elizabeth) Latshaw of East Berlin. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Randall Phillips.
    A graveside service at the Gratz Union Cemetery for family members will be held at a later date.2

    Lorraine M. Phillips, 88, of Herndon, passed away on July 25, 2020, at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, after a brief illness. She was born in Hebe on October 19, 1931, a daughter of the late Edna Laudenslager-Leitzel and Harry Leitzel.
    Lorraine was employed Hall's Motor Transit in Sunbury and by Creative Playthings in Herndon. She was the wife of the late Randall Phillips who preceded her in death in 2007. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards at the Senior Center in Herndon and was always ready to go somewhere with Howard.
    In addition to her companion Howard, Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Julie (Dennis) Latshaw of Hanover, PA; son, Kim (Bruce Fleck) Phillips of Duncannon, PA; grandson, Derik A. (Elizabeth) Latshaw of East Berlin, PA. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lamar Leitzel in April of 2020.
    A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at 11:00 am at the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.2

  • HERNDON -- Randall Lee Phillips, 80, of RR1 Herndon, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at the Manor at Susquehanna Village, Millersburg.
    He was born in Herndon on Nov. 16, 1926, a son of the late Lee J. and Emma J. (Troutman) Phillips. He was married on Feb. 3, 1951, to the former Lorraine M. Leitzel, who survives.
    Mr. Phillips served in the Navy as a radioman 3rd class during World War II.
    He retired from Crissinger Motors in Rebuck, and earlier, he was a longtime employee of Phillips Bros. Garage in Herndon.
    He was Protestant.
    Mr. Phillips was a member of the Alvin Long American Legion Post, Mandata, the Herndon Masonic Lodge and the Williamsport Consistory.
    He played minor league baseball from 1950 to 1952.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Julie Ann Latsha of Hanover; one son, Kim R. Phillips of Duncannon; and one grandson, Derek Latsha of Hanover.
    He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Campbell, and two brothers, Jack and George "Bill" Phillips.
    Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Chestnut and Market streets, Pillow, where a funeral service will be conducted at 11 with the Rev. Robert A. Kirchoff officiating.
    Interment will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
    Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Manor at Susquehanna Village, Medical Road, Millersburg, PA 17061, or Pinnacle Health Hospice, 3705 Elmwood Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

  • He was the son of John Coleman.1
  • John or Johannes was a son of the immigrant Coleman, who moved from Tulpehocken Township, Berks County, PA, into the Lykens Township area of Dauphin County, PA, by 1791. He took up land warrants, but they were never patented until 1830 when his sons took out the patents. Some of his land was located in the area where St. Matthew's (Coleman's) Church was built. The cemetery and an early schoolhouse were also on his land. Traces of the school foundation were visible until recent years.1,2,3
