    Dale R. Mattern, 65, Millersburg, died Friday, November 19, 2004 in the Harrisburg Hospital. He was born in Hebe, the son of the late Leon Mattern and Margaret Troutman Mattern who survives him of Millersburg. He was a retired carpenter form the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot; attended Trinity UCC in Millersburg, an avid Phillies and Senators fan and enjoyed collecting baseball cards. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Surviving in addition to is mother, are a son, Ronald and his wife, Tina of Gratz; two sisters, Dorene Hawley of Millersburg and Romayne Erdman of Elizabethville; and two granddaughters. Private funeral held at the convenience of the family. Burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

    Marian G. Klinger, 92, of Gratz, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
    She was born Oct. 7, 1924, in Dornsife, a daughter of the late Mabel (Hoch) and Charles Snyder.
    Marian worked with her husband, the late Paul W. Klinger, who passed away Nov. 7, 2010, on the family farm.
    She was an active member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Klingerstown where she was a member of the choir, taught Sunday School for many years and had the distinction of being the first woman to serve on the church council.
    Marian loved going to card parties and going to the senior center. She taught herself how to paint and upholster and had won ribbons at the Gratz Fair. She also volunteered with the Gratz Fair and assisted with voting up until the age of 89, first in Northumberland County and then in Dauphin County.
    She is survived by three children, Sharon Erdman and her husband Marlin, of Gratz, Donna Troutman and her husband Glenn, of Sunbury, and Donald Klinger and his wife Joan, of Valley View; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley Hopple and her husband Don, Darlene Schwalm and her huband Randy, Derl Snyder and his wife Nancy; Bruce Snyder and his wife Shirley.
    She was preceded in death by one half-brother, Bruce Brosius.
    Viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 48 Main St., Klingerstown, where the funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jonathan Jenkins officiating.
    Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marian's memory may be made to St. Michael's Lutheran Church PO Box 71 Klingerstown, PA 17941.
    The Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Rd., Klingerstown has charge of the arrangements.
