Carol Joann Kissinger, 90, of Loyalton, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 4, 2026. She was born in Valley View in 1935, the daughter of Estella and James "Bet" Leitzel.
Carol grew up on the family farm in Hebe, attended Mahanoy Joint High School where she enjoyed participating in class plays, basketball, 4H and "running around", graduating in 1953. Carol moved to Harrisburg after graduation with her cousin Betti and worked for PP&L. She and Betti made the paper when a newspaper reporter spied the girls working in front of their house. He interviewed and photographed them as "it's not something you see everyday"! Carol married LeRoy "Jeck" Kissinger on June 18, 1955, after his service in the Army.
Carol and Jeck worked hard and bought their home in Loyalton in 1963, where they raised their family. Carol worked in the garmet industry while raising the kids, making the house a home and enjoying family. Carol was an amazing cook, loved working in the yard and growing her favorite flower, the iris. Carol and Jeck made many happy memories as they hosted family gatherings (especially Thanksgiving and Christmas), starting their own business (Kissy's Septic) and spending time at "camp". Carol loved babies, spending time with family, cooking (especially her chicken pot pie!), puzzles, creating personalized Christmas stockings for each family member, family bingo outings, family reunions and attending Immanuel-Wesley UMC, Loyalton.
