     Warren Lee Wagner was born on 14 October 1903, Gowan City, Northumberland County, PA.1,2 He was the son of Jacob M. Wagner and Ellen M. Haupt.1 Warren Lee Wagner married Edna Salome Diehl, daughter of Harry Franklin Diehl and Alice Barbara Klinger, on 5 September 1931, Baltimore, MD. Although they married in September, 1931, Edna and Warren kept their marriage secret until February, 1932. As one newspaper reported:

Keeping their marriage a secret from relatives and friends, Miss Edna Diehl of Hepler, Schuylkill county and Warren L. VVagner of Gowen City yesterday made the surprise announcement of the nuptial event as having taken place on September 5 of last year in Baltimore, Maryland.
The many friends of the happy couple today were extending felicitations to Mr and Mrs. Wagner and well wishes on their marital venture. Mrs. Wagner, a daughter of Prof, and Mrs. H. F. Diehl, the former principal of the Lech [Leck] Kill high school, attended the local high school completing the third year when she entered the Keystone Preparatory School. She is a graduate of the Keystone State Teachers College where she had been very active in musical and scholastic societies. For the last few years she has been engaged in teaching in the Schuylkill county schools in which county she is very popular among the younger social set.
Mr. Wagner, a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Wagner, prominent resident of Gowen City, is principal of the East Cameron Township high school He is a graduate of Shamokin high school, class of '22, and Pennsylvania State College. He also, completed courses of study at the Bloomsburg State Teachers College and Bucknell University. At Penn State Mr. Wagner took a prominent part in college activities. He was ldentified with Penn State Collegian, semi-weekly newspaper; Reserve Officer Training Corps, having the rank of student major in his senior year; Scabbard and Blade, honorary national military society; Pi Lambda Sigma, pre-legal society: Alpha Sigma Phi, national social fraternity.
Mr. and Mrs. Wagner have a large number of friends who extend to them wishes for happlness on their embarkment on the matrimonial sea.

Warren L. Wagner, former principal
SELINSGROVE - Warren L. Wagner, 82, of Pennsfield Apartments, 802 Broad St., died in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, last evening.
Born Oct. 14, 1903, in Gowen City, he was a son of the late Jacob and Ellen Haupt Wagner. In 1931, he married the former Edna S. Diehl.
He was a graduate of Shamokin High School; and a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University. He taught school and was principal of in East Cameron Township for a number of years. He was a text book salesman for American Book Co. for 27, years, took an early retirement and returned to teaching school at Selinsgrove High School from 1975 to 1985.
He was a treasurer of the Pennsylvania Public Retired School Employees Association, and received a citation from the House of Representatives upon retiring. He was past president of the United Way; a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Gowen City; was past president of the Selinsgrove Rotary and treasurer until the time of his death.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Hugh D. of Springfield, Vt; two grandchildren; and a brother, Jay S. of Albemarle, N.C.
The funeral will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home by the Rev. R.W. Rhody. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Gowen City.
Friends may call in the funeral home Monday evening.
