     Maude E. Klinger was born in November 1877.2 She was the daughter of Peter Klinger and Margaret Anna Muench. Maude E. Klinger married Milton O. Buffington circa 1906.3,4 According to the 1910 Census, Maude and her husband Milton were living in Washington Township, Dauphin County, PA, where Milton worked at a coal mine. They had been married 4 years and had given birth to 2 children -- Laura and Robert.4 By 1920, Maud and Milton's household included 6 children -- Laura, John R., Helen, Edward, Gilbert, and Hannah.5 In 1930, Maude and Milton were living in Lukens Township, Dauphin County, where Milton was a miner. Their household included 5 children -- Robert, Hannah, Marlin, "Paul," and a 5-year old son whose name in the Census is unclear.6 Her married name was Buffington.3 Maude E. Klinger died on 3 May 1952, Millersburg, Dauphin County, PA, at age 74.7 She was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville, Dauphin County, PA.7

     Milton O. Buffington was born on 8 November 1883, Dauphin County, PA.1 He married Maude E. Klinger, daughter of Peter Klinger and Margaret Anna Muench, circa 1906.2,3 Milton O. Buffington died on 25 August 1955, Dauphin County, PA, at age 71.1 He was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville, Dauphin County, PA.1

Charles Monroe Klinger

     Apparently served as executor of his father's estate (Mary Klinger, Klingers from the Odenwald, Hesse, Germany, p. 368). Mary Klinger's discussion of Charles is very confusing. Charles Monroe Klinger was born on 9 July 1878, Lykens Township, Dauphin County, PA.1,2,3 He was the son of Peter Klinger and Margaret Anna Muench. Some sources record that Charles Monroe Klinger was born on 9 April 1878.4 He married Emma Elizabeth Schoffstall, daughter of John Adam Schoffstall and Polly Schwalm, on 1 January 1898, Reformed Church, Pillow, Northumberland County, PA.5,6,7,8,2 At the time of the 1900 Census, Charles and Emma were living in Lykens Township, Dauphin County, PA where Charles was a farmer. They had been married 2 years and had no children at that point.1
     The 1910 Census for Lykens Twp., Dauphin, lists George as a farmer and head of a household that included his wofe Emma and a daughter Katie.5 The 1910 Census for Lykens Twp., Dauphin, lists George M. Klinger, age 31, married 12 years, as head of the following household: Emma E., wife, 31, married 12 years, mother of 1 child, 1 surviving; Katie B., daughter, 8, single.5 At the time of the 1920 Census, Charles and Emma were living along Mountain Road in Lykens Township. Their household included a daughter, Katie B., and a young son, Charles E.9 In 1930, Charles and Emma were living in the Borough of Gratz, Dauphin County, where Charles was a coal miner.8 Charles Monroe Klinger died on 26 March 1956, 3 miles west of Gratz, Lykens Township, Dauphin County, PA, at age 77.10,11,12

CHARLES M. KLINGER
Charles M. Klinger of Gratz died suddenly on Monday, at the age of 77 years.
Mr. Klinger was a son of Peter and Anna (Minnich) Klinger and was a native of Lykens Township. His wife, the former Emma Schoffstall, preceded him in death twenty-two years ago. Mr. Klinger was a member of Simeon Reformed Church, Gratz.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Reuben Muth of Gratz; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held from the Marlin S. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, at 10:00 o'clock Friday morning. Rev. E. R. Marks, pastor of Lvkens Valley Reformed Chargene will officiate, and interment will be in the Gratz Cemetery.
