     Chester Lamar Minnich was born on 28 March 1923, Valley View, Schuylkill County, PA.1 He married Betty Priscilla Kissinger, daughter of Charles Bonawitz.1 Chester Lamar Minnich died on 26 January 2005, Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, Tremont, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 81.1

Chester Lamar Minnich, 81, of 410 W. Main St., Valley View, died Wednesday at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Valley View, March 28, 1923, he was a son of the later Earl and Pearl Houser Minnich.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific as a Tech 5. Among the medals he received is the Pacific Theatre Service Medal with three Bronze Stars.
He was a retired truck driver.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8237, both of Valley View.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey Stiely; a brother, Richard.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, the former Betty P. Bonawitz; a son, William E., Valley View; three daughters, Cathy A., wife of James Koons, Hegins, Abbie J., wife of Dennis Stiely, Valley View, and Lori L. Minnich, Valley View; a brother, Russell, Dillsburg; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family from Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View. The Rev. Scott Minnich will officiate. There will be no viewing or visitation. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852-9813. Interment will be in Church of God Cemetery, Valley View.
