According to Mary Klinger, Klingers from the Odenwald, Hesse, Germany, p. 362, Charles was the illegitimate son of Nathan Kessler and Christina Miller. This is evidenced, apparently, by a baptismal record listing Nathan as the father and Christina, daughter of John and Maria Miller, as the mother. The sponsor was George Leubold, husband-to-be of Christina Miller. Nathan latter married Lucinda Schoffstall and "all his property was in her name, never mentioning a son Charles Henry Kessler." (Id.)
Age at death: 73 years, 5 months 18 days. Charles Henry Kessler was born on 18 September 1866, Keiffers, Schuylkill County, PA.1,2 He married Mary Elizabeth Erdman. Charles Henry Kessler died on 5 March 1940, Lykens Township, Dauphin County, PA, at age 73.3,2
