     Arlene Mary Artz was born on 25 August 1926, Spring Glen, Schuylkill County, PA.2 She was the daughter of Moses Paul Artz and Faye Edith Carl.1 Arlene Mary Artz married Joseph Mike Hoffman in 1943.3 Arlene Mary Artz married William Raymond Reed Jr., son of William Raymond Reed Sr. and Mary Irene Troxell, in 1947.1,4 Arlene Mary Artz died on 20 December 2005, Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 79.2,5

Arlene Mary Reed, 79, of 2669 W. Main St., Spring Glen, died Tuesday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Born in Spring Glen, Aug. 25, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Paul M. and Faye E. Carl Artz.
She was a 1944 graduate of the former Hubley Township High School.
She was a seamstress in several area garment factories before her retirement.
She was a member of St. Matthew's "Coleman's" United Church of Christ, Spring Glen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Jr., in 2002; two sons, Robert C. Reed and Terry J. Hoffman.
Surviving are a son, William R. Reed III, husband of Lucinda Reed, Valley View; two brothers, Robert E. Artz, Mechanicsburg, and Charles E., husband of Velma Artz, Lebanon; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Matthew's "Coleman's" United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday in the church.
Interment will be in St. Matthew's "Coleman's" Cemetery, Spring Glen.

     William Raymond Reed Jr. was born on 24 March 1922, Lykens Township, Dauphin County, PA.4,3 He was the son of William Raymond Reed Sr. and Mary Irene Troxell.3 William Raymond Reed Jr. married Arlene Mary Artz, daughter of Moses Paul Artz and Faye Edith Carl, in 1947.1,5 William Raymond Reed Jr. died on 15 October 2002, Spring Glen, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 80.3,6

Services for William R. Reed Jr., 80, of 2669 Main St., Spring Glen, who died Tuesday at home, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View. The Rev. Curtis Zemencik will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in St. Matthew's "Coleman's" Cemetery, Spring Glen.
Born in Lykens Township, March 24, 1922, he was a son, of the late William R. Sr., and Irene Troxell Reed.
He was a Marine Corps corporal during World War II.
He was a retired self-employed truck driver and prior to that, worked for 25 years for Alien Shade Egg Factory, Spring Glen.
He was a member of St. Matthew's "Coleman's" Church, Spring Glen, VFW Post 8237 and American Legion Post 575, both of Valley View.
He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Hoffman; two brothers, Ethan and Robert; two sisters, Marjorie Hepler and Barbara Shuey.
Surviving are his wife, the former Arlene Artz; a son, William R. III, Valley View; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
