     Russell Woodrow Starr was born on 30 December 1915, Klingerstown, Schuylkill County, PA.1,3 He married Mabel Hanna Reiner on 16 April 1938.1,4 At the time of the 1940 Census, Russell and Mabel were living with Russell's parents in Washington Township, Northumberland County, PA.5 Russell Woodrow Starr died on 7 December 1994, Tremont Nursing Center, Tremont, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 78.1

Russell W. Starr
Russell W. Starr, 78, of RD1 Klingerstown, died Wednesday afternoon at Tremont Nursing Center, where he had lived since November 1992.
Born in RD1 Klingerstown, Dec. 30, 1915, he was a son of the late Gurney A. and Minnie Wiest Starr. He was educated in Rebuck schools.
He retired in 1975 as a heavy equipment operator for the Meadowbrook Coal Co., Lykens.
Mr. Starr was a member of Salem United Church of Christ Church, RD1 Klingerstown, and Klingerstown Fire Company.
Preceding him in death were two daughters, Marie Miller, on March 1, 1979, and Beverly N. Wedde, on April 13, 1979; a sister, Blanche Oxendrider, in 1972.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mabel H. Reiner, to whom he was married 56 years on April 16; a son, Dennis E., RD1 Hegins; a daughter, Christine Gessner, Leck Kill; two brothers, Earl, Gratz, and Nevin, Susquehanna Retirement Village, Millersburg; two sisters, Alma Schreffler, RD1 Herndon, and Ruby Wood, Elizabethville; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RD1 Klingerstown. The Rev. Mark Rothermel will officiate. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, RD1 Klingerstown.
