     Her married name was Troutman.2 Effie Jean Scheib was born on 30 September 1924, Dauphin County, PA.1 She was baptized on 30 November 1924, Simeon Lutheran Church, Gratz, Dauphin County, PA.1 She married Lawrence W. Troutman on 31 January 1941.2,3 Effie Jean Scheib died on 4 October 2011, Nottingham Village, Nothumberland, Northumberland County, PA, at age 87.4 She was buried on 10 October 2011, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Red Cross, Northumberland County, PA.3

Effie Jean Troutman, 87, of Dornsife, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.
She was born Sept. 30, 1924, a daughter of the late Lewis and Katie Scheib. On Jan. 31, 1942, she married Lawrence W. Troutman, who survives. Her death breaks a marital union of 69 years.
Effie was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Red Cross.
Effie was a loving wife and mother who always put her family first. She was known by her family and friends to be a great cook and displayed the gift of hospitality. She was happiest while holding a baby on her lap and displayed much love to her children and grandchildren. Her hobbies included crocheting and making afghans for her family.
After raising her family, she and her husband traveled extensively and spent many years in Florida during the winter months. She looked forward to family gatherings and the annual family trip to Potter County.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by six daughters and one son and their spouses, Jean and Guy Ferster, of RD Dornsife, Carol and Bob Koppenhaver, of Harrington, Del., Beverly and Dennis Zartman, of RD Herndon, Nancy and Bob Troutman, of RD Sunbury, Joan Troutman, of Rehoboth Beach, Del., Katie and Rick Shaffer, of RD Sunbury, and Bill and Kathy Troutman, of RD Dornsife; 22 grandchildren and their spouses; 39 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her beloved sister, Mollie Rebuck, of Gratz.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Effie will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A closed casket viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Red Cross, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Glen B. Keidel officiating.3
