Services for George E. Baumert, 61, of Herndon area, who died at 8:45 p.m. Monday in Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Urban.
The Rev. George Heberling will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Baumert was born in Trevorton, Oct. 18, 1923, a son of the late George and Emmma Lesher Baumert.
He was a farmer. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Urban, Klingerstown Fire Company, Pennsylvania Farmers' Association, and Woodmen of the World Lodge, Camp 229, Trevorton.
He was a 1942 graduate of Lower Mahanoy Joint High School, Dalmatia. He was married to the former Margaret Shaffer on Oct. 14, 1944 at Urban.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are six daughters, Ruby Brown, Jean Erdman and Margaret Derck, all of Herndon area, Barbara Adams, Dalmatia area, Sandra Bolton, Millersburg area, and Debra Dunmoyer, Lykens area; four sons, George D., Dalmatia area, David, Kevin and Ricky, all at home; seven grandchildren; a brother, Charles, Herndon area; two sisters, Eva Brown, Herndon area, and Bessie Bordner, Dornsife area.
