Mrs. Verna M. Semerod
FRACKVILLE -- The funeral for Mrs. Verna M. Deitz Semerod, 81, of Frackville, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown RD1, by the Rev. Elden Ehrhart. Burial will be in the Salem Church Cemetery, Klingerstown RD1.
Friends may call in the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Mrs. Semerod died Wednesday evening at 10 in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville, where she was a patient for six days. She had been in ill health for the past year.
Born in Klingerstown RD1, Jan. 29, 1899, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Lillie Starr Dietz. Her husband, William H. Semerod, died in 1975.
Mrs. Semerod was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ, Klingerstown RD1.
She lived in Frackville for the past 23 years and previously lived in Mount Carmel.
She is survived by five children, Mrs. June Olson of Foster City, Calif., Wiliam H. of Pottsville, Mrs. Verna Button of Douglassville, Mrs. Lillie Deitrich of Aurora, Colo., and Jackie of Wilburton; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Esther Hepler of Pitman RD1, Mrs. Louella Maurer of Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Florence Geist of Dornsife RD1 ; and three brothers, Herlin Dietz of Frackville, Ray Dietz of Klingerstown RD1, and Marlin Dietz of Harrisburg.

She was buried on 15 May 1982, at Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery, Rough and Ready, Schuylkill County, PA.3
